About
The FAIR TICKETING ALLIANCE was created by a group of responsible and concerned UK ticket traders representing a cross section of the industry in the wake of increasing market uncertainty which threatened the future of our mainly small, often family run, businesses. Members are required to abide by our Code of Practice and their names will be listed on our website.
We are a non-profit, campaigning organisation dedicated to improving the reputation of the secondary ticketing sector, fighting against dominance in the primary market and increasing transparency throughout the whole ticketing industry.
Our main purpose is to campaign for:- Greater legal and regulatory clarity about existing UK laws on secondary ticketing
- Government and regulatory bodies to ensure that secondary website platforms allow traders to comply fully with the law
- Changes in UK laws to create a licensed system giving responsible, secondary operators the right to buy and re-sell tickets whilst protecting consumer interests
The FTA is backed financially by its Members, Associates and Supporters. We welcome donations from all those who want us to achieve our main goal. If you wish to donate or join our campaign, please get in touch.
The Fair Ticketing Alliance’s Chairman, Stephen Lee, has regularly attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ticket Abuse.
The Fair Ticketing Alliance has featured recently on BBC Radio 4 : File on 4 – The Ticketing Business
We are proud to have pioneered a mechanism to give back to the music industry we love by donating £1 from every transaction from member websites back to grassroots venues via the Music Venue Trust. This crowdfunding has helped to save historic venues, part of the UK’s great music heritage, and bringing them into safe hands away from greedy landlords. We hope in the future that this will turn into a much larger pipeline fund into grassroots venues.
